ABOUT THE COACH

Simon Duberley has been involved in athletics, firstly as an athlete, and now as a qualified coach, for the past 15 years.

During Simon’s competitive career, he was coached by former international sprinter Madeline Cobb (current coach of Laura Turner, AAA senior champion 2005). It was Madeline in allowing Simon to implement many of his ideas into her training programme that gave him the taste to embark on a career in coaching.

Simon has worked in the experimental department of the world  leader in Ejector Seat design Martin Baker Aircraft for twenty years.  He has managed to use his knowledge in this field of design engineering to help him understand  the biomechanical requirements of his athletes in every sector of their training regime.

In 1998 Simon decided to switch from competing to coaching, and started with a small group of athletes at the Thames Valley Athletic Centre in Eton Berkshire. This is where Simon’s training system SprinTech is currently practiced.

Simon welcomes comment about the SprinTech training system, as discussion is seen as one of the best ways of advancing training ideas and structure. If you would like to ask about the system please go to contacts and leave a message.
